  • Aroha Island - Just a 20 minute drive from the lodge via a causeway, visit this small bird sanctuary island for peaceful walks, kiwi spotting or rent a couple of kayaks.
  • Dolphin Cruise to Hole in the Rock - Explore the stunning Bay of Islands with a half-day tour searching for dolphins and other marine life, as you cruise through Cape Brett Peninsula and the magical Hole in the Rock on Motukōkako Island. View tours.

Walks & Hikes 

  • Manginangina Kauri Walk- View the breathtaking Kauri forests with easy access for all and enjoy a short stroll (15 min return).
  • Kerikeri River Track- Discover the history and nature of Kerikeri and follow the Kerikeri River. Along the way experience Wharepuke and Rainbow Falls, hydrodams and the famous Stone Store (1.5 hr one way).
  • Hongi Hika track- Try out this short and easy walk through the native forest which Pre-European Maori warriors used to do the same (1 hr one way).

Kerikeri Beaches

  • Opito Bay- A small peaceful bay with beautiful white sand, surrounded by a community of baches/holiday homes.
  • Taronui Beach- 18km away from the Town Centre, Taronui is only accessible via a walking track (50 min one way). The bay embodies golden sand and warm waters, perfect for a little picnic or a nice dip in the sea.
